See Us First

cleveland-shoulder-expert-dr-gobezieAn orthopedic specialist is the best place to start when you have muscle or joint pain. Orthopedic specialists spend their careers focusing on a specific area. They develop a deep expertise that a generalist simply cannot offer. Specialists are able to offer the most advanced treatments to manage your pain and injuries in the most efficient manner. For the most accurate diagnosis and highest quality care, see a specialist first.

We are Shoulder & Elbow Care Experts

The Cleveland Shoulder Institute treats patients with all types of shoulder and elbow disorders resulting from arthritis, typical wear and tear of aging, as well as from traumatic and sports-related injuries. Led by nationally recognized Orthopedic Surgeon Reuben Gobezie, MD, the institute provides both surgical and non-operative treatments. Our first line of treatment is always a non-surgical approach to treating pain.

Vast Experience

Dr. Gobezie is one of the country’s top specialists in advanced arthroscopic and open surgical techniques to restore damaged joints, ligaments and bones. He is also one of the most experienced and highest volume shoulder surgeons in the country. A number of studies have shown that surgical volume, the number of surgeries a surgeon performs each year, is a strong predictor of better patient outcomes. The more times that a doctor and his surgical team perform a surgery, the better the results for patients. In a typical year, Dr. Gobezie performs more than 400 shoulder replacements and 600 arthroscopic procedures. For comparison, most general orthopedic surgeons typically perform around 20 shoulder surgeries per year. When selecting a surgeon, be sure to ask how many times the doctor has performed the procedure you need to have done.
